Candy Meth NOT a Myth

Dec 07, 2007 14:55

For those of you who read the Snopes article on the candy meth and thought that the post/ bulletins you've seen about it were false:*Edit: It seems the Snopes article has been updated since I last read it. So I guess I'm just sharing this to show how one e-mail can cause a ripple effect.

To my niece who is so passionate about saving the world one meaningful, worthwhile cause at a time, I want to thank you so very much for sending the alert about the candy flavored meth, and give you an update on how a simple gesture can touch so many lives.

My friend (and boss), Angie chairs a local drug task force. She established this mission when her son was out one night celebrating with a group of friends, and he died from an accidental overdose of methadone several years ago.

I forwarded to her the alert you sent, and she in turn thought the information was very good. So, she provided this information to the task force. This alert was sent to approximately 600 individuals. She was recently interviewed by the local paper because of the work in conjunction with the task force, but also because recently a motorist was stopped for a routine traffic stop on I-10, and the authorities found candy meth in their possession.

To view the article, key in "candy meth" or "strawberry quick meth" in the search field.
