I am not at all up on animals, so I will assume a marmot is a good and noble creature. ;)
Let's see... Dale and I. I believe he broke up with Rachel in the beginning of January. I helped him move in February and saw him smile for the first time when it actually lit his face. Loved the smile. Thought nothing more of it.
I got the impression that he was being "too friendly" with me and confronted him with it. Several of my guy friends had fallen for me, and I wanted to nip it in the bud if he had, too - it puts too much of a strain on a friendship. I believe that was in March.
The more I thought about it and hung out with him, the more I believed that "hey, this might actually work." Until I found out he was dating uh... someone else. XD He couldn't let me go and I, as much as I wanted to sever all communication with him to save myself the heartache (the first I'd ever had, really), I couldn't really cut him out of my life either. We remained friends and tried to define things in a way that would work for all of us (the girlfriend included).
When he was free again, we hung out more and he thought about it for awhile and eventually asked me out. It didn't take long to figure out he was *the* one, though. I have never, ever, ever had a relationship that was so accepting and forgiving and full of the companionship needed for the long haul. We have so much in common and enjoy a lot of the same things, but have our individual activities, too. It was... comfortable, but deeper than that. Hard to describe.
And off topic. XD Send me the other questions you want to ask? I'm terribly curious now. XD
