Greetings from South Carolina
What's up people?
I'm just chillin this morning at my buddy Corey's house in good ole Columbia, SC. I got in last night. I got a good deal on a flight out of Indy. It was funny when I got to the Indy airport, I remembered that one of my bear friends worked at Budget, and when I walked into the terminal, there he was. So I went to the counter and he was surprised to see me hehehe. So he had me in his office and we said hi. Then we made out. hehe Good way to start off a trip!
The Flight
The flight was good, although it was on Continental on the longest, most narrow plane EVER. I couldn't imagine being really big and trying to fit on that plane! Good lord! It was cheap and I'm here, so I can't complain too much. I landed in Charlotte, NC at 4:30 EST and my buddy, looking sexy as ever was there waiting for me at the baggage claim. He grabbed me with a playful headlock just like we used to do when we were kids!
We then took the 1.5 hour trip to Columbia. Wow I was definitely not in Illinois anymore! So nice and peaceful. And so southern. We got back to his house and there his wife was and his 3 step children and their baby.
The Kids
Ok so like I think I'm in the Twilight Zone. But in a good way! The three kids from his wife's first marriage are mixed (black and white) and oh so cute. Not only that they are VERY well behaved and very intelligent. They have such manners too. They said "yes sir" and "no sir" I told them they could call me Wayne, but they said they'd get in trouble if they didn't say "sir" I said, "fair enough" And they also call me Mr. Wayne. How cute is that?! I want to take these kids back to my school district and have them teach some of the hoodlams I have to deal with how to act! The oldest Elizabeth, is really smart. She's 9 and the conversation we were having was so in depth. I couldn't believe I was talking to a child! Brianna, who's 6, is kinda shy, but she's warming up to me. Reggie who's 7 and the lone boy in the family is awesome. I'm sleeping in his room and using his bathroom. He's got a Spider-Man bathroom. Rock on! And I get to sleep in his bed with Pirates of the Carribean bed sheets!
I'm having a blast so far. Doing something totally different for spring break this year. Relaxin, doing the family thing. But we will be going out tomorrow for the St. Patrick's Day festival at 5 Points. I can't wait! There's also a lot of HOT rednecks here too. I may have to sneak off hehe but I doubt that will happen. Corey's one of my best buds from high school. And dammit, wouldn't you know, he'd grow up to be a hot cub, but a straight one at that. GRRR Oh well, that's not why I'm here. I'm here just relaxin and havin' a good time. I just finised breakfast. His wife Kara made me pancakes and we're hanging out with Zoe, their 9 month old daughter
Other news
My high school is in the Illinois 3A Basketball semi-finals. They're in the final four. Keep your fingers crossed for Champaign Central High School. Go Maroons!
