When I bid my sainted mother farewell this afternoon, I said: "See you this weekend."

She said: "Thanksgiving's next week."

I said: "Um, yeah, I know. I'll see you this weekend."

She said: "But Thanksgiving's next week!"

Funny how they turned out the opposite of what I was anticipating.

Went and saw Sydney White today with my mother. I thought maybe it might be cute but the only reason I picked it was because there was nothing else out that I thought my mother might enjoy. Everything else was either too violent or too sexy or too stylized. So we went to see SW ( Read more... )

I really really like that guy on the Volvo ad, where he's the dad buckling up his daughter in the backseat as she tells him a story and he doesn't want to cut off the story so he keeps nodding and nodding and finally has to shut the door so he keeps looking at her as he scurries to the driver's door and gets in and watches her ( Read more... )

Me and 2 friends from work went to friend #3 who just had a baby.  He's so tiny!  Five weeks old, but he was born 2 1/2 weeks early so even though he's gained a pound he's still under 7 pounds.  He slept most of the time we were there.  We picked up chicken and salads and stuff and had a picnic in her kitchen.  It was nice.
