How many times are they going to break our hearts? MA just heard from the manager at the Parkway and El Cerrito theatres in the Bay area that Fox sent a cease and desist to Criterion for distributing the Buffy and Firefly series episodes. (This does not affect Serenity screenings.) The Parkway has had monthly Whedon nights for which MA was the hostess. These are not minimally attended cult shows, they sold out EVERY MONTH! Why would Fox stop something that was making money for them?
I mean, besides the fact that Fox is composed of dickheads. That's something well known throughout the TV 'Verse.
But...
I know this is totally wacko and that I'm grasping at -- well, not straws, just teensy little wisps from straws -- but I put this together with the recent comments from Alan about a Serenity sequel and I thought, hmmmm, I wonder if maybe Universal needs to renegotiate rights with Fox.
Yeah, I know. That's a totally beyond insane idea. Totally. Seriously. Beyond insane.
Oh God, oh God, we're all gonna die.
