It's been over a month since I've updated this thing. This is partly because updating Livejournal hasn't seemed worth the effort over the past month and partly because my life has been pretty routine.
There was an exam week. I had to go in to take a practice AP English test and my Health final. Also, there was a muffin run.
Now that we have reached the second half of the year, I have early release. However, I have only actually used it to leave school early twice so far. On mondays and fridays I use it for physics tutoring, and the rest of the time it functions mainly as a study hall for me to get my homework done. I stay after tuesdays for Chemistry Olympiad practice and Thursday for Debate Club anyways.
I currently have tons of things to work on. These include scholarships searches, work for Camp Fire/Venture Scouts, pet projects, and assorted other things. Efforts to make any progress with any of these have been met with failure due to lack of inspiration and trouble finding where to start. I have some scholarships which require essays that aren't due until the end of the month, but I recall a lot of scholarships with 2/13 and 2/14 deadlines from my online search. The problem is it's impossible to find them again.
Friday I had an interview with a Cornell admissions person. There was absolutely nothing noteworthy or remarkable about it, but people keep asking me how it went so I keep having to think of something to say about it.
Today I went with my family to Anchor Bar. Great wings.
I seriously need to do stuff. I need to live, and instead I'm finding myself sitting on the computer wasting away the hours as a cheap substitute for life. I should be motivating myself to actually make progress on one of the previous mentioned projects, or, failing that, at least waste my time in an enjoyable and worthwhile fashion.
