WoW, Chronicles of a Job Hunter

Jul 24, 2007 01:40

I had been thinking about joining the World of Warcraft craze for the past 3 months. alf_b has told me much about it, and it sounds kinda fun. But there was a lot of internal deliberation as to what kind of character I should play...I gnome? A night elf? A Tauren? A few days ago I finally decided on playing a gnome. And so I eagerly went to the WoW website to sign up for the free trial. All I had to do was download the software and 10 days of game playing are as good as mine...except for one small problem. The download is a whopping 3.17 GB (yes, GIGABYTES!)

My main internet source is dial-up :(. click here to see how long it would take me to download it!

I think I'm just going to go ahead and buy the game from Wal-Mart.

In the meantime, I'm searching for a job. Actually, I'm searching for two jobs. The first is either a short-term internship or another part-time job to supplement my income from Kelly Services. Not sure how having school plus two jobs is going to work out, but I only have 6 more classes to take after August.

The second job hunt is for my career after I graduate. I really have a strong urge to move back to Michigan, though I can also be talked into Ohio. I think I want to go back to working with the automotive industry. I definitely want to go on my own and leave the nest after graduation, rather than staying for at least another year. It's time to get going.

I'm not sure how this job hunt is going to go along, considering I have roughly 7 more months of school left. I think it is a good idea to start looking now. I hope it works out well!
