D's at a Giant's game right now, so I have plenty of posting time! Since I didn't have to meet up with D after work, I did a little bit of wedding shopping.
First, I stopped by Papyrus to find RD invitations. I am WAY behind on these, but I've gotten insanely picky about the invitations. I found these cute margarita invitations to go with our Mexican fiesta theme.
I then I went to Gap to buy some blue undies for my "something blue." Gap is having a great sale on undies. I got these cheeky boy shorts 4 for $20. Each pair after 4 is still sale price at $5. They're normally $12.50 each, so I bought 5 pairs. Can't have too much underwear!
After I took BART home, I drove to Joann's and bought these iron on letters. The picture doesn't show it, but they're glittery. At first, I wanted to buy embroidered iron on letters, but I cringed when I realized that each letter costs $1.50 to $2.50 EACH! I decided that plain ole iron on was good enough for me. Plus, I got all these letters for only $4.00.
Here's the finished product!
The letters in "Girl" are more spaced out so the phrase would be centered on the back. I misjudged where to put the center "S." Just a tiny detail that doesn't matter, but as a perfectionist, I'm a little bothered by it. ;-)
Favors
Yesterday, D and I stopped by the Ghiradelli store in Union Square and bought 4 bags of chocolate squares. 60 squares per bag for $19.95 each. We're planning to put 3 squares in each box.
Here is a stupid favor box that I spent way too much time on.
Turns out, the glued sash is so stiff that it's a little difficult to close the box. Also, the little tab on the flap might come out so I may need to buy clear circle stickers to seal the box. *sigh* It also looks a little naked, don't you think?
I am not going to put any more work into these favors.

Gifts
D visited his parents' house this weekend and brought back wedding gifts. We have all our gift registries set to send our gifts to FIL's house because nobody is home to sign for packages at our place. I love opening gifts!
Some kitchen gifts. Please ignore the ghetto malt liquor boxes on the right. D's parents used to own a corner store and we used a few of their excess boxes to pack stuff when we moved.
The mess in the family room. Someday, I will tell you all stories about D's unhealthy box obsession. He has a hard time letting go...as evidenced by our family room:
The five boxes on the left are a few cases of our wine. D put them there because he feels that the family room is the coolest place in the house. Why did he put them right in the pathway to the front door and garage? Because we have windows that let in a sliver of light during the day and he feels that this amount of light will warm up the wine too much and ruin them. Mm hm. Please tell me I'm not the only one unconvinced by his reasoning.
