Hello ladies!
D and I returned from our honeymoon last week and I'm still feeling out of it. I'll get to replies sometime. Maui and Kauai were awesome. Maui was memorable only because of the Ritz-Carlton. Kauai was awesome in itself. I definitely want to go back to Kauai again. It's so beautiful. D took a ton of photos and I haven't had the energy to go through the massive amount of files on the laptop yet.
Some wedding stuff
Sorry I've been MIA lately. I've been lurking around, but honestly, I'm wedding-ed out. I'm so over the wedding that I haven't even taken our wedding gifts out of their boxes! Hopefully after we receive our video and pro-pics, I'll be able to post more about the wedding. I still love thinking about the day.
Our photographer e-mailed yesterday. One of their machines was broken and our pictures will be delayed by 10 days. I can't wait to see them!
I'm not speaking to my mother. The week of the wedding, I called her every day and she never picked up the phone or returned any of my calls. She didn't show up nor even acknowledge that she did anything wrong. She had the gall to leave a message at 8 p.m. the night of the wedding to "say hi." After the wedding, I bitched her out. I told her that I never wanted to speak to her again. She responded by gently laughing and calmly said, "I know you will." That's when I knew that my involvement in her life had to end. I will not be her enabler anymore.
She calls and leaves messages almost every day. D took over listening to her messages on the home and my cell phone because he saw how angry I became whenever I spoke to her. Angry, as in murderous rage angry.
I've been thinking a lot about changing my name. When we walked into the Ritz-Carlton on our first day of our honeymoon, we were immediately addressed as "Mr. and Mrs. Kim." I was startled at first, but surprisingly, I was a little pleased. I expected to be bothered, but I wasn't. I'm debating between changing my name legally and using my last name as my middle name; or keeping the status quo and answering socially to "Mrs. Kim."
Life stuff
Work has been rapidly picking up. I'm planning on looking for a new job soon. Realistically, I don't expect to find a job by the end of the year because 1) I'm a procrastinator and I'm not looking forward to revising my resume; and 2) I have no idea what I want to do, except that I don't want to be in this particular field of law anymore.
D is obsessed with building a closet organizer for our walk in closet. He wants to use the pre-fab ones from Ikea and line the two side walls. I told him that I think lining the back wall is a better idea because it's longer than the sides, but he won't listen to me. I'm just going to wait until he sets up the units and I'm pretty sure he'll figure out that I'm right. :D
