I always end up so torn over these announcementsrallamajoopNovember 17 2010, 08:20:19 UTC
Cable is dead, and no one’s more devastated than his old friend and partner, Deadpool
I sort of feel the need to get this printed on a banner or something. =DDD So now we've had Deadpool & Cable #25, appearances by Cable in Deadpool Pulp and Max, and a nod in Origins - how on earth did we get back to THIS from the breakup and the mess that was Messiah War? Even if you take the cynical view that it probably just means Marvel has decided there's money still to be made out of the Cable & Deadpool concept, that's a pretty glorious paradigm shift.
I have to say I wish someone else was writing this though. I really want to be able to enjoy this, but I found #25 a bit hit-and-miss, and it kinda sounds like the cringe-factor may be enough to kill this one for me too. :(
Deadpool remembers Rumekistan, the troubled and totally fictional European country that Cable once tried to turn into a Utopia on earth.
As thrilled as I am that they remembered Rumekistan... uh, guys? That place that Cable tried to turn into Utopia? That was Providence.

No, indeed you did not! *g*
I was just thinking, they've given us Deadpool & Cable #25 and now #26, but what could they possibly have left for a #27? That line raises a very pleasing possibility about the answer. (I would make a bad pun about hoping for Hope here but I cannot quite bring myself to. >.>)
This made me happy. But I really wish Swierczynski wasn't the one writing it...He's only ok at getting Wade's voice right and his Cable is pretty much devoid of a personality.
I'm expecting the plot of this book to be just more typical Deadpool shenanigans. (explosions and puns) But if they put in some funny flashbacks with the ol' CnDP banter, they could have something!
But maybe I'll be surprised. Either way, I'm glad to get some cannon recognition again. :D

3) Will there ever be a chance for Deadpool of the present to cross paths with Hope again, given their relationship with Cable?
Way: I can almost guarantee it.
