On Friday and Saturday, I was at the youth convention and I have to say that is was the most awesome thing that I have ever been to. It was so awesome that it is pretty much undescribable.
I was going there thinking, yeah this will just be a normal youth convention...you get there and start singing and praising Him, and stuff like that...but I was so shocked and blown away by how awesome this youth convention was!
One great thing that really happened was that my friend Lydia brought a friend named Samantha. It was Samantha's first time to one of these youth conventions. She went to church, but she went just to have fun. So she wasn't a believer or anything at the time. But anyway, Samantha went down to the altar during the praise and worship time and she just let it all out. She just started crying and praising Him and it was just so awesome. The cool thing: she got Saved, and she spoke in Tounges for the first time! HOW COOL IS THAT?!
So anyway, I do have to say that this youth convention to me is like a revitalization period for me. I haven't really had great times with God. I haven't spent enough time with God, and it has caught me and the power of the Devil is starting to overtake me. I say that because I have had problems lately. I have had slipups when usually my language is clean, I just slip up and out pops a word. Or like the other night when mom and I had a argument that turned into a fight and then she grounded me because I got really mad and kicked the filing cabinent next to the desk out of pure rage. But this youth convention, I took the time to just sit down with God and ask him to come and clear my heart and my soul of all this dirt that has covered it. I was like, "Jesus, please cleanse me of my sins. I know that I have sinned lately and I just need your holy water to come down and just wash me and clean me of my sins." And as soon as I got done saying that, I just felt much better about everything and I was a better person then.
We sang one song that reminded me of that we needed to be rescued from our sins. We need to be rescued from the powers of the Devil. Psalms 91:14-15 says this...
"I will rescue those who love Me. I will protect those who trust in My name. When they call on Me, I will answer; I will be with them in trouble. I will rescue them and honor them."
Remember this verse and whenever you are in times of despair, look this verse up and pray this little prayer to God....
~*~Heavenly Father, thank you for this day. I pray to you to make times better for me. You know that I am a sinner, you know that I don't deserve your love, but Jesus, you sent your only Son to the cross to die for our sins. I just ask you to make me feel better about myself and make all troubles in my life go away. Jesus, you are an awesome God. In your name, Amen.~*~
LET MY WORDS BE FEW
Yes, I'll stand in awe of you
You are God in Heaven
And here am I on earth
So I'll let my words be few
Jesus, I am so in love with You
And I'll stand in awe of you
Yes, I'll stand in awe of you
And I'll let my words be few
Jesus, I am so in love with You
The simplest of all love songs
I want to bring to you
So I'll let my words be few
'Coz Jesus, I am so in love with You
And I'll stand in awe of you
Yes, I'll stand in awe of you
And I'll let my words be few
Jesus, I am so in love with You
Another song that I liked a lot that I just couldn't get out of my head and just continuously sung it on the way home was Give Us Clean Hands....
GIVE US CLEAN HANDS
We bow our Hearts
We bend our knees
Oh Spirit come make us humble
We turn our eyes from evil things
And Oh Lord we cast out our idols
So give us clean hands
Give us pure hearts
Let us not lift our souls to another
Give us clean hands
Give us pure hearts
Let us not lift our souls to another
And oh God let us be
A generation that seeks
Seeks your face
Oh God of Jacob
And oh God let us be
A generation that seeks
Seeks your face
Oh God of Jacob
We bow our Hearts
We bend our knees
Oh Spirit come make us humble
We turn our eyes from evil things
And Oh Lord we cast out our idols
So give us clean hands
Give us pure hearts
Let us not lift our souls to another
Give us clean hands
Give us pure hearts
Let us not lift our souls to another
And oh God let us be
A generation that seeks
Seeks your face
Oh God of Jacob
And oh God let us be
A generation that seeks
Seeks your face
Oh God of Jacob
So give us clean hands
Give us pure hearts
Let us not lift our souls to another
Give us clean hands
Give us pure hearts
Let us not lift our souls to another
And oh God let us be
A generation that seeks
Seeks your face
Oh God of Jacob
And oh God let us be
A generation that seeks
Seeks your face
Oh God of Jacob
We bow our hearts
We bend our knees
Oh Spirit come make us humble
~*~Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this wonderful day. I thank you for allowing our youth group to go to this youth convention and I thank you. Jesus, I ask you to lay your hand down on Amanda as she is still trying to get over the hard times, just make her feel better and make everything go away. I pray for Samantha, Lord, that she is able to stay in Your presence. I pray to you Lord that the rest of this month goes by smoothly and that everyone is all happy. Lord, please bring more youth to Lighthouse on Friday nights! I thank you for increasing our numbers, Lord, but I ask you to increase them more! Increase them by so much that we have to find a different building to hold Lighthouse in. Thank you for this wonderful day and in your Heavenly name, Amen.~*~
That is all for now, I do plan on being at Lighthouse on Friday night, and I do also plan on being at the Alternative Prom on Saturday night. By the way, does anyone know what time we have to be at the church on Saturday???
