Rose of the West picked my crack! prompt for Saturday's Night Drabbles on TPP and produced
Hair Apparent (gen). The ending is not on my line of thoughts, but it's definitely cracky! Ahah. Thank you, Rose.
On a side note: I'm eagerly awaiting the publication of chapter 14 of A Summer in York on TPP (chapter was validated three days ago :P) while
chapter 15 is on ff.net.
I'm writing chapter 16 at the moment and I'm going mad. I'm starting to fear that none of my characterization is plausible, let alone IC. I wouldn't mind so much IC (considering that 11 years have passed since DH) but I'm succumbing under the worry that I've never been into Snape's mind and that nothing he does was written believing he would act that way, but instead only for the sake of giving him a couple of good lines. I've been writing this fic for seven months (some 9,000 words a month. yeeh!) and, is it really worth all this time I spent on it? The most of it it's just me telling my own business under the names of Snape and Hermione. A few parts mean something only for myself and aren't surely there for the sake of the plot (like the rambling at the beginning of ch. 16. God, I spent three or four evenings just researching Jewish cemeteries in York for finally deciding to invent one. *shakes head*). The flourishing of quotes are there only because I can't help myself. It is much more a self-gratification than an analysis of borrowed characters. Le sigh.
Consider that in the last few days I've read all the SS/HG I could find by
sophierom and I'm looking at my own stuff under the lens of what she can do from inside the characters' mind. I will write soon a post about her fics, because hers are masterpieces, period.
In any case, the posting of chapters 16-onward (i.e. the last five chapters) will take longer, because I have yet to decide where to place a few scenes that were planned from the start. And I'm starting to fear that there will be at least one quote in Italian. My readers will kill me. Please AK me softly.
