Quarantine - 5

Mar 25, 2020 10:31

Day 18th of our national lockdown. In this period, I went out of home only three times to buy groceries. Yesterday was particularly tiresome. You have to queue (half an hour) before entering the supermarket, then try not to get too close to other human beings inside the supermarket (which is particularly difficult, since the aisles of our supermarker are very narrow), then carry a ridiculous amount of products home (to feed you and your husband for another week), leave the shoes at the entrance, wash your hands, put everything in their place, wash the bags you used, wash yourself (including your hair), wash all the clothes you had on. Add to that clean your house and do the dishes, and yesterday afternoon I was completely fatigued. I am getting behind with my work, because I start feeling tired and stressed out. I hope my clients will understand that, even if I worked from home also before, this is not as before. We all have a new burden to carry, and I'm one of the lucky ones with all my family and friends still in good health. Much of our day is only spent listening to or reading the news, and try not to feel too overwhelmed.

There are some beacons of hope - in the last days, the number of new contagions in Italy is slooowly going down. There was a small decrease in deaths as well, on Sunday and Monday, but not yesterday. We are all convinced that the numbers they are offering are wrong in the whole world - that China had more deaths, that we have more contagions, etc, etc.

Yesterday we reached Goblet of Fire in the national HP marathon. Love that film. I confirm my dislike for Prisoner of Azkaban (the movie).

I will post something more elaborate tomorrow on https://covidcoffeecorner.dreamwidth.org/

Take care. xxxx
