Tagged by deepforestowl, and I think awhile back someone else tagged me for something similar, so uh, sorry I didn't do it and forgot who you were. Consider this meme partly for YOU, masked man.

RULES: Each player of this game starts off with 10 weird things/habits/little known facts about her/himself. People who get tagged write a blog of their own 10 weird habits/things/little known facts, as well as state this rule clearly. At the end you tag five more people to do the meme. No tag backs. We only tag because we love.

1. My subconscious is so pretentious that people have accused me of fabricating dreams. Like the one that was narrated in iambic pentameter. Or at least that's how I remember it. I think my favorite is still the one in which I introduced popsicles to the first World's Fair.
2. I am extraordinarily vain about my appearance, but only in specialized areas. I rarely wear any make-up at all.
3. I am kind of a food hoarder. I think maybe it's because I don't drive and am always slightly nervous about when I'll be able to get to the grocery store next, but I could seriously probably go at least a couple of weeks solely on the dry and frozen goods in my apartment. And I wouldn't run out of tea until about 2010.
4. I have really bad peripheral vision. If I walk by you in a hall and I should know you but I don't say hello, you were probably too far to the side.
5. I have a nail polish fetish, in the classic sense--that is, I buy the stuff constantly despite the fact that I have pretty much every color I could want and I never run out of any of them. And yet, I'm not too particular about the state of my paint job. I just paint them about every week or two, letting them chip as much as they will in between.
6. I hate drinking cold water, because it makes me cold. Apparently I have low specific heat. I drink a lot of water at work, and I always fill my bottle from the hot water tap in the bathroom. At the gym, I drink it basically room temp.
7. I really like photographs in general, not just the ones that contain me. I have lots of collage frames with photos of family and friends around my apartment.
8. I watch little TV when it's actually ON TV, but
   I keep up now with Bones and Cold Case--I have a thing for really old murders. This is odd because I hate sad endings, but maybe this way they start out as bad as they're going to get. Anything is an improvement when you start with a 30-year-old murder! Progress is progress!
9. When I was in the 8th grade, I wanted to be a member of the Navajo Tribal Police. It was more about Tony Hillerman than a sincere desire to uphold the law. As you might imagine.
10. I love mermaids. I don't know if that's little-known, but you know, I update this LJ a lot. It's hard to think of a lot of things that seem likely to be "little-known." Perhaps less well-known is that I used to yell at aardvark_gumbo for drawing them topless when I was a kid--he used to draw all kinds of fantastic beasts for me. Anyway, I thought that mermaids should wear seashell brassieres, and was unconvinced by his arguments that they would chafe.
