and almost all my clothes are put away, too

Dude. So today I screwed up on the bus again--thought it would turn onto Mass Ave but it kept going across, so I got off a stop late. It was a blessing in disguise, however, because I discovered a JAPANESE SUPERMARKET just off Central Square!

I picked up some bean thread noodles, instant miso soup, and an instant noodle bowl, "kitsune udon," I believe the same brand that I used to love when I lived in Tokyo. ("Kitsune" means "fox" in Japanese; the dish is so named because, I gather, it is believed to be the sort of dish that foxes like. You think that's weird, let's talk about "fox possession." Maybe later.)

Anyway, I thought maybe I had built it up in my memory and would be disappointed. In fact, I kind of hoped that I would be, because instant noodle bowls are pretty much as bad for you as Japanese food gets.

But no. Instant kitsune is, in fact, INCREDIBLY DELICIOUS. It's 10 points on Weight Watchers, which is more than I almost ever consume in a single meal, but I think I haven't been getting enough calories since I moved (what with all the running around unpacking stuff) so I probably needed to splurge anyway, and ZOMG DELICIOUS.

It's that big slab of sweet fried tofu on top that really makes it. Yum.

Also, I went to a reading for the anthology She's Such a Geek tonight, which was really good, and I talked to some really cool people and bought a copy of the book. It was a very good time.
