I finally made an appointment to get my hair cut. Ideally, I would have been able to scout out places myself and find a stylist with a minimum of four tattoos and some kind of pseudo-Bettie Page look, because invariably these are the people who can do my hair RIGHT, but
daowajan's suggestion of Yelp.com was a good one. I think Zip Zap Hair will meet my needs, and $45 is damn good for a cut in San Francisco.
Also, it will be nice to hang out with
daowajan, and see San Francisco. And next month I'm going down to LA to discuss an interesting-sounding paper and visit my cousin. Yay.
I also upgraded my cell phone plan to the 900 minutes per month one tonight, when I discovered that I was already 49 minutes over my limit with a full week left in the billing cycle. Fortunately, it allowed me to make the plan change retroactive by a month--it's $20 more, but the overage charges for just that 49 minutes would have been over $22. I figure I'll change it back when I leave California and am no longer two hours behind most of the people I know.
