(x-posted to my
my other blog)
I dyed my hair Special Effects Cherry Bomb last night in preparation for the wedding I'm in this weekend; the bridesmaids' dresses are indigo, which I think it should complement nicely. And of course, Cherry Bomb is pretty much my favorite hair color ever. It's the only one I've done multiple times.
I had to dye it a week in advance to give myself time to get it off my skin, though. I am no hair dying n00b; I smear Vaseline around my hairline as a matter of course when I dye, and I wear latex gloves, but this dye is so potent that the water stains your skin when you rinse it out, and there's not much you can do about that.
After a few washes, it will start fading, but it goes hot pink when it fades, and stays quite vibrant for months--part of the reason it's my favorite. I'm getting it trimmed on Wednesday; thank god it's growing out from the horrible SuperCuts fiasco. I was thinking I'd try to recreate the old style with the spiked back and the long bangs, but now I'm not sure--it might be cool to grow it out all over and curl it again, the way I used to do when it was bleach blonde. How adorable would a little pink flip be?
Anyway, photos (I know you can barely see my hair in the last one, but hey, I liked how artsy it looked):
And dude, it matched my shirt today. How awesome is that?
