Excellent mail today. I got a $5 check from Pinecone Research, an actual market research group that I got into through a link on freestuff; they seem legit, so hopefully I will be seeing more $5 checks as the months go by.
I also got a huge pack of mix CDs from mogigraphia; most of them are collections of sea chanties and related music, but I am currently listening to "Bad 'uns," a mix of songs about rogues that is really, really good. It opens with "Stand and Deliver" by Adam & the Ants and segues into "The Highwayman" by Loreena McKennitt amazingly well, and continues just as strong.
Today at the gym, incidentally, I thought of making a mix of songs that I think would make good tracks to lay over the discovery of the body in the opening teaser for Cold Case episodes. Yes, I'm morbid.
AND I got an email that my first BPAL imp order (made back in September) will be shipping on Monday! I'm really looking forward to trying Neo-Tokyo and Follow Me Boy.
Also, has anyone else read Firelands by Michael Jensen? Hot gay sex on the frontier and the wendigo! It was actually pretty well written. I read it at the gym this week and I really enjoyed it.
