I like to plan ahead.
Yesterday I was doing some redecorating around the apartment and got upset at the prospect of having to leave it someday. Specifically, I got upset about the thought of leaving it next August, when I'd been sort of vaguely thinking that I really ought to move somewhere somewhat cheaper.
However, on reflection, I don't think it would be worth it to live somewhere "somewhat cheaper."
I'd be further from campus, which would mean not only would I probably not be able to walk in to campus much at all, but I'd have to switch landlords since Bruce doesn't really own any properties further out, and good luck finding another landlord who fixes things promptly AND doesn't care about my three cats. It would probably be smaller, and it definitely wouldn't have a third of the basement for my personal storage space.
All that for slightly less rent (and my utilities are all included currently) and MAYBE a bigger kitchen? Forget it. I'll just keep taking out student loans and stay right here with my new posters.
