So after bragging to
suibhne_geilt that grad students don't get library fines, guess what?
The Historical library here on campus DOES charge us fines.
Nobody else does. But one of my prelim books that I didn't return until threatened with "lost book" charges came from there, and they want $15. Jeebus.
Technically, there's a block on my record until I pay them, but since I'm already registered for fall classes, this won't affect me much until December. Let's all hope I remember that some time between now and then.
On the bright side, apparently I moved my head too much back when I had my second MRI for that psych experiment I did (probably because I had to piss like a racehorse), so I'm going in this afternoon for ANOTHER one at $20 an hour. I don't mind being MRI'd, so there's really no down side here, except that I'm having to skip the gym because I didn't realize it was the MRI rather than the TMS part of the experiment until about an hour ago, and if I went to the gym now, I'd end up with the same bladder issues as last time. But hey, $40.
