My preordered copy of HPHBP came from Amazon at about 2 pm. Next time I should probably just reserve a copy with a local bookstore; I think I could get a comparable discount (and no s&h costs), and I'd be able to get it at midnight instead of having to wait around for it to arrive. I missed the farmers' market because I couldn't leave my apartment until it came.

(Of course, I was also up super late watching three episodes of Cold Case. Thank you again for the second season, gem225! Episode #2.3, "Daniela," was so sad. I mean, they're all sad, but I was just weeping buckets at the end. That and #2.22, "Best Friends," are my favorites that I've seen, I think.)

Last night I went over to _becquerel_'s place to hang out with her and A., and we made summer vegetable curry. It was quite tasty, and I took home a couple of meals' worth of it, too. I think I may have it with some chicken tonight.

My abs and obliques still hurt from switching from the ab roller to the inclined planes at the gym this week--on Wednesday, I mistakenly assumed that I wasn't expending enough effort on the oblique lifts and did a bunch of them holding a 10-pound weight. Yeah, that was a mistake. Something about fencing on Thursday night seemed to intensify the soreness, so that by Thursday night the only really comfortable position for me, lying down, was with my knees tucked up over my chest. But I was unable to sleep like that.

They're feeling better now, but are still a bit sore. At least I have the weekend to recover.

I need to go to the library and pick up my holds, and maybe walk around downtown and see all the sidewalk sales. I'm not too thrilled about the conditions outside--dude, it's 93 degrees out. But I could use the walking exercise. But damn, I wish I had a pair of SHORTS. I may inspect my pants collection for something to cut off. I guess I could use one of the many pairs that don't really fit me now and have a pair of shorts that didn't really fit either. Hmmm.

My parents apparently got a kitten. His name is Don Iñigo Huesos. He turned up in the driveway, or at least that's my mother's story.
