Happy birthday,
amiable and
ofluvandblood!
(You guys have the same birthday, you know.)
I hate Excel. Despite my best efforts it seemed impossible to get the damn program to do simple frequencies (rather than frequencies into category bins, which I didn't WANT), so I ended up just doing it myself--only 50 cases, so not that big a deal, but still.
Now I really need to look at transcripts for "successful" versus "unsuccessful" compliment deliveries and maybe write up some analysis. I should not have taken that "nap," by which I mean, when I hauled my ass out of bed at 11:30 to feed the cats, who were being very annoying, I should not then have immediately collapsed on the couch and slept for another two hours. (The new pillows and throw are quite comfy.)
I had vivid dreams that my friend Crystal and I were fleeing enslavement by a race of giant intelligent spiders. I hate spiders. Also, Crystal kept yelling at me that I was oppressing her somehow, v. remiscent of the episode of Futurama I watched yesterday where Bender joins the robot separatists.
Still have not figured out if I'm eligible for that education tax credit or not, even after
travspence dug up the number for the IRS recorded helpline, which basically just restated what's in the tax booklet instructions (when not directing me to use a three-digit subject code that, when entered, the system informed me was invalid), and made things no clearer. I guess I should call their live helpline tomorrow.
sophonisba is afraid that she will get cholera in Peru. I'm not sure what triggered this; I should note that when I went to Tokyo, I received materials from the international office instructing me not to drink the water lest I catch yellow fever and/or elephantitis. This did not develop, although it was extremely hard to buy socks there. They never tell you THOSE things.
