Miss Virginia

I could just post links to fivethirtyeight every day and consider my job done. Those guys do the job right... But one interesting caught my eye today. Apparently the McCain campaign managed to alienate Miss Virginia with their ongoing "people who vote for O-BOMB-a are not 'Real Americans'" narrative.
Why is this important you ask? Lets walk through the point-by-point for seeking endorsements?
Is she a political heavyweight? No, she likely won't bring a groundswell of volunteers to the Obama campaign.
Will she bring money? Its unlikely. Although Kristi Lauren Glakas does seem articulate, relatively well versed, and of course photogenic, its a little late in the race for meaningful fund raising. I also doubt she has the experience.
Will she bring other endorsements? Its unlikely, its late in the race, and she is a Pageant Queen.
Does she have a unique perspective on the campaign? Oh yes. Even if its only for cheap shots like "Even I've been interviewed by Chris Matthews," a left leaning, intelligent, Pageant winner, is in a unique position to criticize a right leaning, not quite so bright, Pageant winner, especially if she really has national media contacts. Its unlikely we will ever hear from Ms. Glakas again, but its just possible that the Obama campaign could deploy her in some really brilliant ways to cast a further cloud over Ms. Palin, really hammering in the credibility and experience problems she has been plagued with by day one. Not this Beauty Queen, not this
election!
