Character
Name: Takeshi Yamamoto
Series: Katekyou Hitman REBORN!
Timeline: chapter 293 (before he gets sliced)
Canon Resource Links:
wikia.
Personality: Yamamoto is an easygoing teen, and is almost always seen with a smile on his face. He's the type of person who can befriend just about anybody and will sacrifice anything he deems important to save his friends. He's also extremely naive and trusts just about anyone. It gets to the point where he thinks that almost everything is a game, and that Reborn’s weapons are advanced children’s toys. Yamamoto also believes that the mafia business is just a little game of “cops and robbers.”
Yamamoto does have a serious side to him though. When he was transported ten years into the future he scolds Gokudera during their combined fight against Gamma. He was frustrated that Gokudera wasn't acting the part of a right hand man, and that he didn't deserve that title if the only person he truly talked to was Tsuna. He's also good at keeping secrets. During his training in the TYL arc Reborn promised to tell him the secret to the Arcobaleno curse if he was able to successfully strike him. So far, even through recent chapters, he hasn't mentioned a word about it to anybody.
Despite all of this, he has amazing reflexes and a strong body thanks to his baseball training. At Namimori Yamamoto is the star athlete, and when he injured his arm once, he believed that he was no longer acceptable and was about to throw away his life by jumping off a cliff. Though, with some convincing from Tsuna he was able to realize that he’s not completely useless whenever he’s sustained an injury, and was successfully talked out of his suicide attempt. He however, isn't quick enough to dodge walls or best friends who come at him with swords out of no where.
Yamamoto can also think quickly on his feet; especially when he or someone else is in need of a plan to escape. He's also a quick learner and was able to learn all of the eight forms of the Shigure Soen Ryu within the span of a week. During his fight against Squalo for the Vongola Rain ring he was able to develop his own form to the Shigure Soen Ryu style. He can also take a beating and endure the physical hardships that come along in his training. He's kind of like a sponge in some way when he absorbs moves/other things and uses them to get better. His training with Reborn and Squalo during the TYL arc are great examples of this. And despite his looks, he's extremely aware of certain things. His sword being one of them. During his first fight against Genkishi he was able to see past the illusionists powers and knew that his sword was still intact. (Genkishi had casted an illusion over the sword that made it look like it was about to break.)
Strengths/Weaknesses: Yamamoto has an amazing stamina, reflexes, and an athletic figure that he obtained from baseball. Yamamoto also has the ability to learn new moves in a quick-fire rapid pace. He has an amazing memory, as was shown when he memorized the eight different forms of the Shigure Sounen that his father showed him once during training. Yamamoto is very careful when he fights, and knows when he needs to go easy on a certain limb/part of his body. Yamamoto is also quick to think on his feet, and almost always comes up with an answer the second time around of an attack.
There are currently eleven offensive, and four defensive forms of the Shigure Sounen style that Yamamoto is aware of, but despite this knowledge, he is also very well informed on baseball stats.
Outside of dueling and pointless knowledge on baseball, Yamamoto brings a certain air of naivety around him as he believes that Reborn’s weapons are tricked out toys for toddlers. He doesn’t take anything very seriously and is truly oblivious to what’s happening around him. He has a constant smile and thinks that everything is a game of some sorts, and is eager to compete, though as long as it’s a game that is. He’s easygoing and it’s very easy to strike up a conversation with him. He is also very quick to come to aid his friends, and if anyone got hurt he'd throw his life on the line. He also doesn't really like to lose, he's good at hiding it, but he'd prefer to come out on top of things.

Samples
First Person Sample: [If you listen hard enough you can hear Mom rambling on and on about pokémon journeys and stopping by the professor's place to pick up his very own pokémon. He sort of has an uncomfortable smile on but as soon as he realizes the gear is on it dissipates quickly into one of his normal smiles. Once she's done he stands up quickly and waves his hands.]
Maa, maa 'kaa-san, I've been here before! Don't you remember me? You even gave me one of your burgers before I left! They were really good too! I know what to do this time! [he smiles as he grabs the bag on the table. Before reaching the door, he pauses and turns around.] If I have time I'll try to call you later! [and with that he heads outside.]
Haha, I guess this place wanted me back. Oh well, it's pretty fun so I don't mind! Tsuna? Gokudera? Are you still here?
Third Person Sample: Yamamoto glanced around curiously. He blinked as he rubbed his head. He was at home, but it wasn't his home that was for sure. He opened the door and poked his head out curiously. He headed down the stairs slowly and stopped stock still.
His mouth made a small o shape as he stared. Okay yeah, he most definitely wasn't at home. Either that or his dad remodeled the house while he was sleeping and got rid of the sushi bar. But yeah, no the only thing that could possibly tip even Yamamoto off was the fact that there was a woman in the kitchen. Yamamoto didn't have a mother.
Upon his arrival at the foot of the stairs the elderly woman turned around and smiled kindly at him. She motioned at the table and then to the door and then went back to her business. Yamamoto stared at the elderly woman, but soon directed his gaze towards the kitchen table. Was he going on a journey?
Would it be a fun journey? Oh! Were Tsuna and Gokudera going on this journey? That'd be fun, Yamamoto thought as he absentmindedly picked up the bag. Yamamoto smiled as he put on the bag. He walked towards the door and was about to open it but paused. He glanced over his shoulder at the elderly woman and wondered if he should say something before leaving.
It was kinda rude to just go on and not tell her thank you. So he turned around and bowed. "Haha, thanks for everything obaa-san." Okay, now that he had said that he felt a little bit happier, so, with that he started his way to the door again but paused.
The elderly woman was walking towards him slowly. She patted his shoulder softly and handed him something warm. Whatever it was smelled delicious. Yamamoto grinned again and bowed his head slightly. "Thanks!" He walked over towards the door and put his hand on the handle. "I'll--uhh... try to visit you again sometime!" He grinned. It was the least he could do, and so with that he headed off on his journey.
