wiki Personality:
At first glance one would probably classify Sugata as a cool type. He's extremely smart, physically fit, polite, and very calm and collected. However there is more to Sugata then what meets the eye. Sugata's name is given to those who are born into the Shindou family and bear the mark of the Emperor. Prior his knowledge of Cybodies, Sugata lived a cheerful and carefree life spending most of his time with his family and friends. It is on his eighth birthday when he discovered the truth about his mark and the Cybody he pilots. Due to these impacting life changes, Sugata has come to the point where he hates celebrating his birthday.
Due to the extreme and awesome power Samekh has (which is literally destroying space and time), Sugata is prohibited from leaving the island. If he were to even attempt such a thing he would be killed right there on the spot. Because of this, he has familiarized himself with every inhabitant who lives on the island and it's helped tone his observation skills significantly. His observation skills are proven when he instantly realizes that he has never seen Reiji on the island before. He is also very much aware of Zero Time, which is a bracket of frozen time the Glittering Crux (the antagonizing organization) uses to challenge Taubrun (the Cybody Takuto pilots) to numerous of fights via Cybody mechas. Another thing that is of great risk involves Sugata apprivoising - apprivoising being that they're activating their Cybodies. In the past all of the candidates who have tried to apprivoise correctly have fallen into a deep, permanent coma. Despite knowing the risk that could potentially befall him, Sugata apprivoises anyways to save his fiancée and close friend, Wako Agemaki.
His feelings for Wako run well into their childhood, and despite the constant teasing he puts her through it's obvious that he truly cares for her with the little things he does for her. In the past he used to carry a knife in his pocket so he could use it to protect her, and really, he would do just about anything to ensure her safety. In fact, Sugata would probably do just about anything to ensure the safety for any of his friends. Even if it means him getting hurt in the aftermath, or tiring himself out to the point where he ends up in a deep slumber from using his powers. Despite the constant interference Takuto plays in his and Wako's relationship, he doesn't let that sway his opinion on the boy.
Despite the rocky patch the two got into in the beginning they're the best of bros now. Throughout the series they're always seen training together in the morning before school. Sugata is always pushing for Takuto to improve, and is sometimes seen harping on Takuto for not full out on some of his attacks; but he means well. Sometimes he uses Wako (such as letting him date her to breaking off his engagement) as a bribe to get Takuto more willing to practice. He also doesn't seem to mind letting Takuto crash at his house either. His friendship with the Galactic Pretty Boy is very unique and it's shown whenever Sugata calls him a "freeloader." Both Takuto and Wako also seem to hold their friendship with Sugata in high regard as they both are willing do what it takes to rescue Sugata.
Along with Takuto and Wako, Sugata is also a member of the Midnight Flight Club. He is an incredible actor and knows when to keep things hush-hush. As the series progresses Sugata realizes what he has to do and plans how effectively it'll happen by joining the Crux. For one reason or another the members of the Crux thought he was joining to see Takuto fall, or so that he could be the new ruler of the world-- but in reality his motive behind the sudden and abrupt join was so he could seal Samekh away. As mentioned towards the beginning, Samekh has awe-amazing powers and could easily destroy the world. To stop something like that from happening Sugata sacrifices himself by sealing Samekh away while still piloting it.
Sugata is also very emotionally reserved. He smiles from time to time, but other then that it's very rare to see him completely angry or upset. It is also mentioned that he doesn't cry in front of people often. He also might have come off as a bit of an egotistical jerk at times, but he does this to make sure that he isn't troubling anyone with burdens he carries. He also thinks very highly of himself at times and is shown quoting things like "talent is granted by God" and "even onions must be punished for making an innocent person cry."

[This video has been brought to you by a wild pokémon battle! And from the looks of it, it looks like Sugata and his Dratini are half-way into battle with a Mareep.]
Even though this is only training you must give it your all, alright Samekh? I don't want to see you holding back, not even for a second-- especially in a battle with one of those gym leaders. If you win this battle then I will cut training short for tonight and feed you one something from my Bento box. [He pauses and adds as an after thought.] I will also wash your back.
[And that seemed to do the trick. With that Samekh, who had been somewhat slouching a few seconds ago, straightens up and moves forward to attack. However her attack misses. Dratini gives a sad whine, almost as if she's afraid that she upset her master.]
You must keep a level head while in battle, Samekh. Things like that happen from time to time. Now do it again, just like we practiced.

Sugata awoke with a start as he quickly shot up from the bed he was sleeping in only moments ago. Blinking blearily, he quickly surveyed the room he was in and noticed right away that something was amiss. To name a few he wasn't wearing his usual nighttime dress-wear, and, the room he was sleeping in most certainly wasn't the room he slept in back home.
Quickly, he shoved the covers off of himself as he swung out of bed. As he stood he walked over to the window and peered outside. His mouth parted slightly as he watched the townspeople bustle about outside. Giving a small sigh of relief he shook his head as he turned his back to the window. The view wasn't exactly what he wanted to see, but it at least crossed off the possibilities of him being stuck in Zero Time or trapped on a different part of the island. Wherever he was, he knew for sure that he wasn't home.
Eyes widening at the thought he observed the room carefully. If he wasn't on the island or stuck in Zero Time, then-- where was he? Quickly, Sugata crossed the room and changed into a more suitable attire. Deeming himself ready, he inhaled deeply and stepped out into the empty hall.
As Sugata made his way down the stairs he noticed a figure lounging in the kitchen.
"Oh you're finally up!" The figure said in a cheerful voice. She however didn't wait for a response and quickly shoved a few items at Sugata. "The Professor is waiting for you honey, have a safe trip!"
Sugata quirked an eyebrow at the woman's familiarity with himself. "Excuse me, miss? Do you know where I am?" He asked as he jostled the bags he was given around.
"Why you're in Johto, silly!" She replied with a smile. "Now go, you can't keep the Professor waiting~"
Sugata could feel his stomach drop upon hearing the town's name. He wasn't... He wasn't on the island. He paled instantly and wobbled over to sit down in one of the chairs that was next to him.
This... This can't be. Sugata thought in disbelief. I'm supposed to be assassinated on the spot if I were to ever leave-- and yet... I'm still alive. Unbelievable, I've often thought what it would be like to finally leave, and here I am-- I wonder if Takuto and Wako are here. Sugata thought as he gave a small smile to the woman on his right.
