I know I've already done this meme, but it's cool, and I felt like copying
labellementeuse, so there! And plus, there are more of you on my friends list than there were back in December, so it should be loads more funnolicious!
Ummm yeah...rules are:
1.Shuffle your playlist.
2. Of the first 30 songs that come up, no matter how embarassing, put your favourite lyric on your LJ. Try not to include the title.
3. Open season to your f-list to see who can guess the most songs.
4. Strike the songs off as they are guessed correctly.
5. Anyone caught cheating *will* be tied down and beaten to death with a dead squid. You think I'm joking don't you...

Fairy tales of yesterday, will grow but never die

4. Glitter on the mattress
fallbackschism- "Love Shack", B52s
5. I'm being punished for all my offences
I wanna touch you but I'm afraid of the consequences
mickwanny- "Growing on Me", The Darkness...and who can tell me what this song is really about?!
6. The blackness would hit me
And the void would be calling
disturbed_kiwi- "Time Warp", from The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Watched that movie the other day...never fails to amaze me how...perfect Tim Curry's legs are! It's not fair! :P

8. The field is cut and bleeds to red.
The cannon balls fly round my head,
The infirmary man may count me dead
9. I see a man at the back
As a matter of fact his eyes are red as the sun
And a girl in the corner let no one ignore her
'Cause she thinks she's the passionate one
mickwanny- "Ballroom Blitz", The Sweet. Was also used in "Wayne's World", which is, of course, a brilliant piece of cimematic goodness!
10. Confidence and conscience
Decadent extravagance
Never ending providence
For loving when I had the chance
11. Something borrowed, something blue
mickwanny- "Every Me, Every You", Placebo
12. All that I can do is grope
For a shred of loving care from my girl-
fallbackschism- "Starlight", Zed...apparently Weezer sing it as well!
13. I've been smiling lately, thinking about the good things to come
mickwanny- "Peace Train", Cat Stevens. His music is quite simply gorgeous, never fails to remind me of my childhood.
14. You’re not the hurting kind

fallbackschism- "When I Grow Up", Garbage
30. Whatever happened to Tuesday and so slow
albauk- "Brown-eyed Girl", Van Morrison. Shalalalalalala...beautiful!
Some of these are dead easy, so I'll expect a clean sweep! Very much doubt anyone will get #8 or #22...#21 is a little obscure as well, but I am counting on
mlfoley to take it out! It's one of the songs I want a my funeral...that an Maire Brennan's version of "In Christ Alone" and "Lift the Wings" from Riverdance. And, no, Qona, that's not the Micheal Ball version!
Was going to do the 5 songs I'm digging one, but that can wait 'til later, yo.
In the meantime, it's my great pleasure to introduce you to
buzzy_bee_nz, otherwise known as the absolutely gorgeous Deborah Naomi Ryan, one of my besties from Student Life! She has just joined the ElJay craze, so feel free to introduce yourselves, and show her what civilised and upstanding *ahem* citizens of society we can be!
Will be posting some photos from the Student Life Ball soon-ish...more likely when I figure out how the hang Photobucket works. 'Twas an ok night, but it never ceases to amaze me how a little insignificant thing like a defective dress can screw up a potentially fantastic time. Strapless dresses that lace up at the back may look fabulous on the likes of Nicole Kidman in Moulin Rouge (until last Friday, I had modelled my future wedding gown on the dress she wears when she dies! Yes, I am one of those people, get over it...), but on me...put it this way, sometimes I wish I'd been born a boy. Seriously, I'd have my friends (sorry, Deb!) do the damn thing up so tight I'd have a waist to rival Emmy Rossum's in Phantom, and five minutes later it would start slipping slowly downwards again! *cringe* Slightly scandalous, but I still managed to win the award for the best princess dress, which was cool.
So yeah, I have mentally re-designed my wedding gown, making sure to include straps, and have decided that's the last time I go ball shopping unaccompanied. Don't worry, I'll be sure to post the photos with me actually looking decent and respectable, as opposed to Jezebel of Sidon. I'll cut them, so no-one has to be subjected to my Erin Brokovich-esque cleavage if they don't want...my hair and make-up look pretty, at least! Don't worry, one of these days I'll be one of those girls who can feel beautiful wearing old track-pants and a paint-splattered T-shirt full of holes. Not quite there yet.
EDIT: Gah, no-one's got #1 yet! Keep guessing people...see if you can get more than Mike!
