(no subject)
yay, its tuesday. my second full day at TLU. things are going ok despite the somewhat rocky start. i have so much to talk about...
First of all i have met some really awesome kids. Mostly I have been hanging out with the same 6 girls: Amy, Amy, Minaxi, Jennifer, Meredith, and Brooks. They are all really fun and hilarious. We were just cracking up at dinner! We have all gone nuts about Taboo and even though we finished the whole box last nite, with the help of Parker, Paul, Ashley, and Maegan, I'm sure we'll do it again tonite.
Second, my classes. My morning class is awesome. Its called Protest and Patriotism with this really cool hippie guy we call Mark (also known as Dr. something). But yeah mainly we are discussing different views on the vietnam war era and watching lots of movies. Yesterday we started Platoon, which we finished today. And then today we started Full Metal Jacket. There's one difference between this and regular school: we would never be allowed to watch R movies there. But I'm actually having some problems with Full Metal Jacket, dispite the fact that I love Kubrick and I'm not really affected by movie violence. We saw the part today where they hold Vincent DiNofrio (Law and Order:CI)down and beat him with towels full of soap. I started crying...it was so awful. Well, I gotta go...
