This morning had me spraying off the yellow green sneeze dust from the car, otherwise known as pollen. I noticed all the new shoots of grass and the beautiful blossoms from the redbuds and the dogwoods drifting like snow on the morning breeze. Everything springing up from lawns to saplings.
Including Boo. Today he is seven. He's so tall now. It won't be long and he'll pass me up (not such a difficult feat, mind you, but he is only just 7.) I really need to post new pics of him as most of you just see the icon I use which is from years ago. Those cheeks are just about gone. Now he's all toothless grins and gangly arms and legs. While Blue's Clues can still catch his eye he's much more easily amused by cartoon violence and the passing of gas either from the basement or the attic. Typical boy, no? While it does make me all sad and angsty about him growin up so fast, this year has made me appreciate that he's even being given the chance. It was a rough start this year, very scary and not quite done with, but I know we'll be in the clear by July ( the pediatric GI doc agrees.) At least when I get all misty-eyed, I can blame it on the Pollen Fairy.
All this means I really need to get to that Party Preparation list so I should probably get off my nostalgic butt and get busy. Still I catch myself pulling up his old baby pics on the PC. *sigh*
The Man also is holding up quite well for his age. ;) I can remember when his dad used to tell him ... "When you get to be (fill in age marker here, it varied) you'll be falling apart just like the rest of us." Now while it takes him longer to recover from activities, he certainly is not falling apart, in fact he looks damn good. While I may grumble about how much time he takes to work out and such I will certainly never complain about its results.
Next year should be even more interesting, first round of NCAA tournament being hosted in town during Boyz Birthday week. The Man is counting off an entire year of his work schedule to see if it's possible to go. Now if only we could put together a team (coach included) that could get them and keep them there. The Razorbacks would be eligible to play there, but not UALR (which would be an extremely rare appearance anyway.)
