Road Trip!
Once again, we hit the road with an AC empowered rental car. Tonight we leave for the infamous "Southern California". This will be my first trip to this foreign land. It should be interesting as well as sweltering. Yay for air conditioning!
My folks have been in Arizona visiting with my aunt, uncle, cousins, etc for the past few days. Today they're heading to Palm Springs, where we shall meet them in the wee hours of the morning. I'd really like to check out Joshua Tree National Park while we're there, but other than that my focus will be hanging out with the folks and staying cool & hydrated. Yesterday we stopped by the local AAA office to pick up maps and tour books and a TripTik. Firstly, the guy who helped us, I think his name was Charley, anyway, he was super cool and helpful. He highlighted maps and showed us the cool features of the triptik! Plus, he showed us a superior route to Palm Springs. Woo!
