I received the following from a friend who needs some help. Please read and help if you can. It is that perfect opportunity to clean out the closet a little. I know I have two or three gowns that would love to find a new home. THANKS!! Deb

Friends,

I am on the advisory board of America's Heroes of Freedom (AHOF), founded by Susan Brewer, which provides support to the injured military and their families. This Inauguration, AHOF has once again been selected to dress the wounded military as part of Operation Cinderella/Fella for the Commander in Chief's Ball, an official Inaugural Ball following the festivities of January 20, 2009.

In order to make this event successful for our wounded warriors, we need donations of money, ball gowns, tuxedos, dress military uniforms, shoes, ties, and other accessories. AHOF will also provide gift bags to include make-up, jewelry, perfume, and other gift items.

If you have contacts with retail/wholesale who would like to be a part of Operation Cinderella/Fella and can donate to this event by providing ball gowns, shoes and or any of the above items, please let me know by email at volunteermontgomeryco@yahoo.com. Personal donations are welcomed as well. We ask that the formal wear be new or like new.

Distribution for the items needed by our wounded combat veterans will be provided on Saturday, January 17, 2009, site to be determined. 2250 wounded warriors have been invited; many who will be counting on our services.

Spa services have been donated by Graham Webb Beauty Academy, in Rosslyn VA, and Bubbles Hair Salons. Other hair salons vendors are welcomed. Other vendors include, Claire's Stores, Crab Tree and Evelyn, Nordstrom's, Owens Manufacture, Lady Hamilton, Men's Warehouse, Victoria Secret, Marshall's, Mac Make-up, Mary Kay, Aveda Cosmetics, Sephora, Ulta and Avon. Lancome is sending perfume samples, and Sean (P. Diddy) Combs is sending cologne for men. Florists in Reston and Arlington will provide nosegay's and boutonnieres, a wig company in Rosslyn and and DC will provide extensions and wigs for women. This is just a list of some of the vendors, and more are needed. If you are a consultant for any of the above company's and can provide product, please let me know. Donations must be in-hand by Friday, January 16, 2009 and are tax deductible.

In these uncertain times we are challenged to do what we can to make a difference. January 19th, Martin Luther King Day, is a national day of service. It will celebrated by thousands of Americas volunteering with projects to bring hope and change to communities in need. Volunteers will be a key to the success of this event. There are many opportunities for individuals, families, and corporations to assist with Operation Cinderella/Fella. Please let me know if you are interesting in contributing your time.

Thank you for helping us to honor our veteran's who allow us to live in the land of the free and the home of the brave.
