So just finished watching the Hogfather on sky. For those Terry Pratchett virgins out there the Hogfather is a book from the discworld series telling the story of death's grandaughter saving hogswatch (to put it trememndously simply). Hogswatch and the hogfather are i mickey take of Christmas and father christmas. Anyway it's a fantastic story and my favourite story of the discworld series. This was a sky adaptation of the book for live action. It should have worked. It didn't. There's no reason for it not to work it was just bad filming. The sequences were shoddy, no suspense was built due to bitty shots of the suspense scenes that left out any real feeling of suspense or peril, this led onto scenes that were meant to be emotional due to the peril just faced that didn't feel right. They took things out of the story that were essential they put in new things that made no sense and did nothing to further the plot in any way. The actors weren't very good and i got no real sense of characters from them. Mostly however it was just the filming it was terribly put together. I was dissapointed. Some will say i'm dissapointed because i've read the book and it's hard to transfer across and yes i agree about that for part of the reason but as i said it was mostly the filming that bothered me it was terrible, and it doesn't matter what story they were telling bad filming is bad filming
