Understandable! And well, let me think... Apparently he was a fisherman who visited Harper's Island every now and then. He was arrested somewhen in the eighties for undisclosed reasons and spend... 17(?) years in jail. I think. Then he came back to Harper's Island in 2001 and started killing for no apparent reason. Okay.

Later we find out from the sheriff that he had an affair with Abby's mother, and when he followed her to the island (about 25 years ago, I guess), the sheriff sent his deputies after him, to... I don't know. Beat him up, scare him off, something along those lines. When W. hurt one of the deputies, the sheriff did everything in his power to make sure he got charged with attempted murder of a police officer instead of assault or something like that. Okay, so W. was sentenced to 25 years, got out after seventeen for good behavior, and, I think, went immediately to Harper's Island to start killing people. Including Abby's mother. (After that happened, the sheriff said to Abby (in a flashback) that maybe her mother deserved to die like that. Not sure if that's just sloppy writing or supposed to mean something.)

A few episodes ago, W's prison diaries showed up. Apparently he and Abby's mother had a child together. Maybe it's Abby, maybe it's someone else. We don't know yet.

Okay, last thing, when he and Abby met for the first time, she asked him why he was doing all this. He seemed surprised that she didn't know.

Okay. I think that's pretty much everything. Do you regret you asked? :D?

*sigh* So much for it making sense. Ah well. Thanks!

Nope, sorry. And I think the chance to line it all up and make sense is pretty much equal zero by now. (And not only the Wakefield stuff. There are other things as well; characters behaving strangely, time lines, incomprehensible character re-casts and re-shooting of scenes. *shrugs*)
