I am totally not sure what to think of this. There is lots of stuff I don't understand here, but let me just - totally uncharacteristically, I know - concentrate on Leoben for now.
As funny as it is to see him backing away from the crazy*, uhm. Why? What did he expect? Why is he suddenly, oh let's not check out what actually happened here? Again, funny, I know, but. I mean, I guess he knew about her death in the maelstrom? Right? So, why suddenly the creep-out (apart from the obvious reasons)? Even more puzzling, what's with the OMG, the hybrid told you what? He knew about that. He was there. (Remember, show? He actually repeated what she said.) So, okay, maybe it was a different Leoben, but we have established that Leoben is Leoben, right? So, uhm. What?
*Okay, and everything else aside? Everything that scares Leoben? Means that everybody is in deep, deep trouble.
