About the suspension of the Battlestar Galactica actors because of the writers' strike.

This power play move essentially forbids the actors from finding work elsewhere while the show's production remains shut down. SAG says that since the terms of Article 61 are breached, actors can terminate their deals and try to find work elsewhere. All of this ( Read more... )

Huh. And the last ones haven't been written? Here's me thinking the writers' strike wasn't directly affecting my fandoms much. Eeep.

It's not like that, I think. The shows may well have been written already. But you can't really film them without a writer present, you know? In case anything doesn't work out the way you think it would. So the scripts may be there, but they can't shoot anyway. Pretty much all the major American tv shows shut down shooting about now. They last about two to four weeks without writers.

Yikes. I wish the moguls would hurry up and give them a percentage already! I want my BSG, and the writers play no small part in making it so fucking awesome!!

Yeah, they do. As long as they don't let Michael Angeli write another script... ;P

Oh GOD. Yes. I see he also wrote The Son Also Rises, my most hated episode of BSG of ALL TIME. Hmmm, but he also wrote Six Degrees of Separation, which I quite liked. Maybe he should just stick to the funny ones?

I'm trying to remember what happened in Measure of Salvation. I'm less familiar with season three, my VCDs are kind of broken. it was rubbish, wasn't it?

Did you see this interview with Jane Espenson? I think that RM is devoted enough to do whatever it takes to finish BSG, but yeah, I'm way nervous about the actors kind of needing to eat and going off to do other things.

Oooh, yes, RAPTURE. They didn't have the time in the end to include the Leoben scenes, because they just hadn't spend enough screentime on the Quadrangle Of Woe. Grrrr.
