He argues often,
but then of course,
so do i.
and even in the midst of it all I find the time to wonder and to gawk at, well, everything.
perhaps the most peculiar part of it all is the seemingly normal lifestyle that always peeps out behind the curtain before showtime.
But, all in all, the little things still keep me busy.
If I sat back and studied the number of bricks along the fireplace or the cracks in the bathroom tile, I would probably go and eat some peanut butter.
After placing a call in to the pesky neighbor to beg for some sealer to fix those cracks in the floor (yes, caulk).
All he had to say was "K." A response that lended nothing more than a settlement, no, not even that, a quiet gesture of disagreement and discontent. Even though the response I needed was nothing short of a humble understanding, maybe even a stubborn apology.
Every day, without fail, the crows caw.
They don't call for help, for joy, or for food.
I really think they caw for the sake of spreading their gosh darn annoyance on those who really can't do anything about it and throw open their front door in hopes or inflicting some sort of shock on them.
You really have to agree that crows are fairly intelligent, and probably lead quite vivaciously. They have all the space in the world to sit outside whoever's home or garbage cans they please and just, well caw.
How much would you give to have the luxury of sitting outside anyone's house, anywhere, and just yell and pout about your daily annoyances? You would probably live life a little fuller, because your soul would be a little lighter.
You could weigh yourself down with positive memories and hopeful intuitions and those god damned negatives could be the raw eggs tossed at someone's front door each and every morning, lessening the weight that you would have otherwise carried throughout the rest of the day.
Have you ever seen a crow carrying luggage around anywhere? I think not. There is not a single crow in this place who has any baggage whatsoever, literally, or metaphorically.
And to think, I am aspiring to be a crow. What is the world coming to?
