Sitting in a hospital room waiting for you to wake up after they removed that brain tumor was no picnic either.

I think we both earned a few grey hairs.

A few gray hairs and maybe a few years off our lives.

I think the point of them removing your spleen and pulling a tumor the size of a bowling golf ball out through my nose was to add years.

Whatever years those surgical procedures may have added was nullified by the level of stress they caused.

You really were worried. Weren't you?

The surgery was bad.

Waiting for you to wake up was even worse.

Not your fault. I was just scared you were never going to wake up.

A little too much anesthesia. Nothing but a thing. You, on the other hand,I felt powerless when the doctors wouldn't talk to me.

Sorry about that. After...everything, I told them that I wanted you removed as my emergency contact.

Well, that explains it. One minute they're telling me everything and the next I'm being told that everything is undercontrol and if I'd like to take a seat in the waiting room.....

That was then. This is now. Right?

Right. And we've come a long way since then. Nothing like being stranded on the side of a snowy mountain to help you get your priorities in order.
