I think everyone makes sacrifices for their career. Some it's time away from family, and some it's just not having one at all. I know some with children they sacrifice the most at times. I know I have and as much as I hate it, I have to do my job.
There have been times I promised Alex we'd go to the park with Kyla, the three of us and play and work has come up and I had to cancel. Sure Kyla takes him either way but it's still me not being there. In our field of work, even if I'm not a police officer, it's still dangerous. I've come close a few times to making the ultimate sacrifice for my job. My life.
It's hard to think of that with a wife and child at home. Oh yeah, I did forget to let people know I ran off and got married.
