I sympathise. If Zoro had been the one getting in touch with his feminine side, I would've been like, "WTF are you doing to my favourite character?"
I think the problem was that it was all handled very superficially; as I just mentioned to abra, it all happened so quickly, just wear women's underwear and get threatened with exposure and the touch of an okama queen = turn into okama.
The other thing I wondered was whether Sanji will wind up capable of fighting women. I'm in two minds about that...
You're right, it will probably end with the swordsman just appearing ominously at the end, and the episode focusing on how the truce between Perona and Zoro came about. Still, I'd love to see how it did happen. And the humiliation will probably be spread around a bit...more time as Bearsy in the works.
Flashbacks in the manga you mean? Yeah...I still want to know what happens to Sabo, but I really want to see how the crew gets back together. I guess I still don't see how Sabo's story affects the greater scheme of things. If Sabo's only role is to give Ace a reason to live and then die himself, and Ace is dead, that's kinda anti-climactic. I have trust in Oda's storytelling abilities to make this arc worthwhile, though. If Sabo lives, that would be really interesting, if he then popped up in the main timeline and helped Luffy heal or something. But either way, I just wanna know is he dead or alive, how, and then get back to Zoro and the others, pleeeeeeeease.
Yeah, seriously. I think it also made Sanji look like a weak character. I mean, he couldn't keep his own character in the face of the okamas, and it's kind... I don't know. I haven't seen a single person satisfied with it yet.
And yes, as you can imagine, I am sad right now. T_T But if it were Zoro in Sanji's shoes, I would still be WTF-ing right now, and he's my fifth or sixth favorite SH, depending on how SUPER Franky is this week (XP).
On that note, yeah, Zoro was in Bearsy, but I didn't see him getting in touch with his inner plushie! *pout*
Though that would probably be epic... in fic, not canon, fic.
Yeah, manga flashbacks. I want Sabo to steal be alive, or I'll feel like this arc was a waste of my time, really. It'll be like, "Oh, okay, Luffy has had loss in his life. Oh boy, that's exciting..."
But I trust Oda as well! I'm sure that he'll bring everything to a happy (or at least agreeable) resolution!
That's the real reason this okama!Sanji thing doesn't have me really freaking out yet. I trust that Oda's not going to completely change him NOW after so many years. Um... right? *sweats*
Also, watched the Chopper part. My prediction is that Chopper will try to get the birds and the humans to stop fighting (all Pochohontas-like, and no, I have no idea how to spell that), and something will happen, and he'll save the baby bird (who reminded me of Franky, with the dollop (for lack of a better word) of blue hair, XP), and then the parent birds will fly him back to Saboady.
I didn't really think to put it that way, but I think you've put your finger on the spot - it was too quick, Sanji didn't put up much of a fight, which really does make him seem weak.
Only fifth or sixth? *sad* :-P 'S okay though. Everyone has different SH favourites. I'm kinda sad Luffy isn't higher up on my own list.
Inner plushie. *snort* Well, he does that every time he gives in to Chopper, I guess.
That would be one way to get your revenge for what happened to Sanji :-P
Yeah, exactly. I feel like this flashback will have no meaning if Sabo dies.
I'm pretty sure Oda will return him to normal eventually, after milking it for all the laughs it's worth. I basically see these things as a way for different people to get stronger in their own ways, not for major personality differences to occur (for example, Franky returned to Franky, instead of staying tea-sipping gentleman!Franky, even though that was fairly funny).
Not sure how brokering peace between birds and humans will help Chopper though...maybe all the animals in the world will look to him for leadership from now on or something? (Probably not.) Maybe there will be some great medicine on the island or something? In any case, that's why I think there must be at least a third round of the cover stories. Of course, Oda could incorporate it into the main storyline, which I wouldn't mind at all.
