Dream Entry Part I

Jun 14, 2009 14:14

Oh, christ, this was one bizarre dream! My recollection's disjointed, so bear with me:

I've gone to a college orientation, where the trees lurch over me, casting their twisted shadows along the gated pathway that I run upon. They are naked and withered under the midnight moon. On one end of the path is Harvard University. The other end is my unnamed school. A few people see me running and laugh. They see to be vague shapes of those I once knew. In the middle of the university trail, there branched off a different path. Leading to the inside of the musty forest, I was flanked to the sides with sallow ponds that bellowed a rotten mist into the air.

Farther down, there was a clean stream that shot the haunting brown overtones back to the world in its trickling reflection. College kids were playing in the water, and I could hear their shrieks of excitation, but I could not see a single one of them. Then, I found myself in front of the main campus building and the campus store, with many little boothes out on the payment in a twilight circus fever of showmanship. I went into the campus store, needing to buy clothes that my mother forgot to pack for me, but not having enough money for it.

E walked out from around the corner, exclaiming, "We need to call Bubastis!" I told her about my predicament, and she offered to buy me clothes. We explored the store, but it was decrepit, with patches of bare woodwork jutting out from the withered wallpaper. Naturally, with our luck, they didn't have the clothes, and we left. Then, I found myself in a different place. I was in a tall public housing building with a few others. We stalked the lifeless wooden halls where the lamps cast a flickering brown light. There was an ominous silence, inside, but we knew something wicked was to come our way, that this was a quest for survival.

After carrying ourselves over a small edge past a pit to nowhere, we reached a staircase. We climbed up to the top floor, having no prior knowledge of its existence. There were two children standind there, one by the front entrance to the floor, and another inside. They held wide grins and didn't move a muscle, completely paralyzed in time. One of our entourage goes up there, trying to call out ot the kids. Suddenly, they blink out to nothingness, their smile the last thing to disappear, and we see outlines of their bodies. We hear the cries of the woman who went up, as well as slashing sounds, and we fire our guns wildly into the air. We run. Later, we find ourselves on the top floor of a different building, with zombies corpses strewn all around us. We are spent, and sit, waiting for the end.

(There's more to the dream, but that'll be in part II. Expect some really weird/stupid shit, like end of evangelion ;))
