I got back from my meeting with Antje on Friday afternoon to a note from Sarah saying that she was spending the night in WV, so I had the room to myself. Had dinner with Catherine and Robin and then went over to see if I could look at my room for next year, but the girl who lives there now wasn't home. Came back, watched Third Watch (only two more episodes left before the series finale), and generally lazed around. Had an amazing conversation with Laurel until almost 1 in the morning. It seems hard to believe that I haven't talked to her in so long, and I didn't even know her that well when we worked together, but hopefully this'll help get us back in touch.
Saturday morning = sleeping-in bliss! I only got up at 11:30 because my dad called wanting to know why I wasn't up yet. Had brunch and left for my day on the town. Went up to Hudson Trail Outfitters, across from Borders, where I'd been meaning to go all year but hadn't gotten to. Amazing, awesome store. I picked up a job app for when I come back in September, so hopefully that'll work out. And who did I see working there but Zoe, who lives across the hall from me and who's also from Maine. Went over to Borders and after excessive hemming and hawing picked up a replacement copy of A Walk In The Woods by Bill Bryson, since my copy went awol ever since I lent it to my mom.
Got back to my room around 5, and got a call from Sarah saying that Mrs. Curtis's daughter needed a babysitter. So I told her to have them call me, and half an hour later I got picked up for a night of babysitting in Baltimore. Beth picked me up at 5:30, and she and Ben didn't leave for dinner till 7. They put Addie down for the night before they left, she screamed bloody murder for 45 minutes straight, and then I didn't hear a peep from her for the rest of the night. They ordered me a pizza for dinner, so I ate that while watching 4 hours of SVU and then watched the first half of the remake of the Parent Trap. They got home at 11:30 and Ben drove me back to campus. I didn't count the money they gave me until I was back in my room, and I thought I was hallucinating when I realized I had just gotten paid $75. I'm not broke anymore!!
Got up this morning, did the Starbucks/Superfresh thing by myself, since Sarah was finishing a project. A woman in Superfresh saw me putting my groceries in my tote bag and offered to give me a ride back to campus, since it looked like it was about to start pouring. My faith in humanity has now been restored. Did homework and read this afternoon, talked with Abby for about half and hour, and then spent an insane amount of time with Colleen. We got dinner at Chipotle and then came back and watching Cool Runnings in her room. I took her laundry slot since she did laundry when she was home this weekend, so I now have clean clothes and clean towels, which is rather exciting.
I'll be home in 21 days! Three weeks till Maine!
