(no subject)
this month i have tried out smoking. its ok. but i think i'll stop now.
this month i am now the manager of the money shop in soho. i dont know what the hell i think im doing. if anything its made any kind of creative output i have even slower. other than DJing, which is the laziest form of creativity
obviously to tie in with the new film, jeff wayne's musical version of the war of the worlds has been re-issued and i might fork out for the big special edition for i love it so. pointless extra discs and a big 12" book of the artwork. there's a half decent (if a touch house-y) remix of the eve of the war out next month. and an animated film planned. and a possible live version in the next couple of years, which i've thought they should do for ages. (you could just go and read the website for yourself sorry)
speaking of three legged things.. remember the tripods? ive seen the boxset in the cheap dvd shop on charing cross road, but i suspect the series was actually a bit crap as the tripods themselves were hardly in it. the music was good though. by the same composer as 'casualty'. a bit like war of the worlds. i still find something really scary in big weird things striding across the english countryside.
the other night i got drunk by myself on the sofa with the fourth transformers boxset. i watched the return of optimus prime and oh my god it was amazing. evil ultra magnus was fucking scary. just have the rather odd three-episode-only fourth season, where they introduce the headmasters and galvatron and skorponok get booted off into distance and cyvbertron turns gold, which is a bit of a naff story but at least it puts an end on the series rather than it just runs out of momey and stops.
i have been listening to pink floyd, mainly dark side of the moon and animals. (i.e. the albums i can nick off paul). originally i wasnt bothered but i like them now.
reading more philip k dick and the place of dead roads by wsburroughs.
