now that I completed my plug for the ORCHESIS SHOW, I'll finally update so prepare for a novel.
Last Thursday (that was a week ago?!?!) my lovely Latin Lover visited London (so many L's). After hugging the life out of each other Erin got to ride the Tube for the first time and see my cute little neighborhood and then we got down to business. Thirstiness ensued and we and Shira and Chels partied it up at Roadhouse. The live band was great even though they played Nickleback and "Joel would be so pissed." After 4 strongbow, blingbling, sex on the beach, tequila, and sol we danced the night away with friends and strangers alike and Erin got a taste of Brits.
Friday I showed Erin the sights and she got to see the city I love. Somehow we got a little turned around and saw a guy holding a sign for a tattoo place. Since I had been talking about getting one Erin convinced me it was meant to be and four hours later a Spanish guy was altering my body forever. It didn't hurt nearly as much as I thought it would and I had three great cheerleaders right by my side (Shira, Chels, and Erin.) The end result was a star on my hip for Kristen and London, a story to tell the kids, and two parents who can't be that mad.
Saturday, I was proud to take Erin to Pineapple and so pumped to dance. Erin got to hip hop again and her instructor was even Spanish (Spanish things must obviously follow her everywhere.) I took a tap class for the first time since senior year and my feet still knew what to do. I still got it. If I could dance everyday for the rest of my life I'd be a happy camper. After a Mexican meal and Salsa music in the restaurant ("how can people hear this and go on with their lives"?) I took Erin to Camden Town (where we saw the tongue dog on the train) and the rest of Kensington and introduced her to my lifelong lover, Peter Pan. After grabbing a fruili at Builders we reminisced aaaalll night long under my Navajo reservation blanket.
Sunday morning we awoke at an unnatural time and I bid Erin goodbye. Yeh, see you in another month in yet another country =) What lives we lead. Since the Tube wasn't running at that time I took a stroll to Buckingham Palace, through Green and Hyde Park and walked all the way back to Kensington. It only took about 45 min and it was so beautifully indescribable. No one was quite out yet and everything was glistening in the sun. I love this place and I don't know how I'm ever going to leave (which is in like two weeks !!!!!!!)
I'm ready to go home, just not yet ready to leave London.
