Theme challenge: Mortal Sins Challenge
Mortal sins are believed to destroy the life of grace and create the threat of eternal damnation unless either absolved through the sacrament of confession or forgiven through perfect contrition on the part of the penitent. From here. Wikipedia, of course.
The traditionally accepted mortal sins. Note that there are eleven, not seven:
extravagance
lust
gluttony
greed
acedia
despair
sloth
wrath
envy
pride
vainglory
Throughout history, creative types have been fascinated by the concept of mortal sin. They've written about it, drawn it, filmed it, and sang about it.
Now it's your turn.
Write a story where a Leoben faces the sin of despair, or compose a fanmix based on these sins. Write some meta on which mortal sin is Mike Sweeney's. Is it wrath? Or pride? Make some icons for each sin, or a wallpaper featuring your favorite character or actor and your favorite sin.
The Mortal Sins theme challenge will run until Monday, April 5th. Plenty of time to come up with something.
