[DC Timeline question]
I'm writing a pre-series Mike/Ray Prager backstory fic, and I've worked out a timeline for how things went down--things being those events referenced in both seasons as having happened Back in the Day (TM).
Anyway, canon keeps throwing wrenches in my v. plausible timeline. >:( STOP THAT, CANON. Anyway, if anyone wants to weigh in on this discussion with Opinions, I'd love it!

Mike Sweeney is the last person Lyssie is seen with, according to her file. He's 20 years old. The date given is "June". We know the following:
a)Mike asked Lyssie out to get back at Claire for cheating with Prager
b)he stands her up
c)She goes with Glen (the actualfax last person who she is seen alive with; I assume Prager lied for Glen about that) to the Farm because she thinks Mike will be there, and is murdered.
d)Mike has already left Durham by this point, as we learn in Season 2. (Glen tells him what happened to Lyssie at the Farm during the finale; therefore Mike wasn't there)
I therefore surmised, since Mike stood Lyssie up, that it was the night he ran over Prager with his car. So this would work out, right, except in canon Mike says the roads were icy. Now I know they weren't and that he's been telling this lie long enough that he's made himself believe it (MIIIIIIIIIIKE), but one would assume it *wasn't June*. Also, if Prager was Mr. Hockey, why is he in Durham if he and Mike are around the same age?
I had surmised that this all happened in December, when Prager was home for the Christmas holidays. (I have him going to play with the Toronto Maple Leafs farm team, St. Johns Leafs at the time, and I know hockey teams play through Christmas but just go with me that maybe his didn't so he came home). June would be the off-season so that works as well, but it's just the following things are a bit O.o because how does this work?
If Mike runs Prager over in December and stands up Lyssie, then leaves Durham immediately afterwards, that would be about six months of him being gone, right? So why is Lyssie still going to go to a party to see him in JUNE? Is she still all <3_<3 about him six months after he stands her up and vanishes? I mean I know she's 17, but...?
I suppose this works out because how Prager can orchestrate all the awfulness that happens to Lyssie if he's hurt badly from Mike hitting him with the car makes sense if he's had six months to recover. Also he'd have missed the second half of his season with the farm team as he couldn't go back, effectively ruining his career.
So I guess my question is, above, can I make it that Lyssie Lexie would honestly still be :D! enough over a guy who stood her up six months ago then VANISHED AND OBVIOUSLY LEFT TOWN to have gone to the Farm with Glen? Of course this is her sister's theory for why Lyssie went with Glen, but we have no reason to disbelieve it. *hands*
Also Mike says something about Ray being a pathological liar since he was...is it eight? I have them meeting at 12, and I really don't want to re-write the opening scene of the fic this is for because it's a bit too mature for eight year olds, so I'm going with Mike using hyperbole if that's what he said. If he said 11, this is all groovy because that's about the same age I have them meeting.
Anyway, if anyone has thoughts about this, shaaaaaaaaaaaaare them with me. :D? Perhaps I shall post this as well to C6d_Universe!
