ceramics made ez-er

I've been taking a Ceramics class this semester, and I've been really enjoying it, but I've been having some frustrating centering problems. I looked it up on YouTube (like ya do...), and found this cool series by a Ceramics teacher in the Santa Cruz/Monterey area. This is his 6th step in "Six Steps to Throwing Bliss", which is full of helpful advice. His technique is slightly different than my teacher's (who is pretty awesome), but I just think he's totally impressive by how FUCKING FAST he centers his clay and throws a cylinder. To give some idea: I'm brand new, and doing something wrong (which I think I've figured out), but it took me a couple of hours to accomplish what he does in 5 seconds. I don't mean the whole cylinder - I just mean the centering part. Even if you're not interested in pottery, the guy's skill is impressive.

Anyway, it's only a few minutes long, and the guy is knowledgeable and affable. His name is Andy Ruble.
