I love the amount of thunderstorms this area receives. A spiffy storm rolled in a few hours ago and since Lily was curious about the thunder, we went outside and hung out on our porch watching the clouds roll in. After a while, bolts of lightning were arcing across the sky much to her delight.
She definitely grasps the difference between thunder and lightning and on several occasions would remark "Daddy that's a good lightning" or "Daddy the thunder is loud!"
As we continued to storm watch, rain inevitably followed. I LOL'd when Lily told me "Daddy I want to take a shower in the rain"! Of course, that lasted only a couple of minutes because it then began to hail!!! The hail was dime sized and only lasted five to ten minutes, but Lily was mesmerized by the fact that ICE was falling from the sky. We broke contact to head inside only after the wind was too cold for her to bear.
Once inside though she had no interest in anything but storm watching. I rolled up the miniblinds to accomodate her and turned off the interior lights to reduce the glare from the windows. Then we lost power...
That wasn't so cool. Power was out for about two hours and just came on ten minutes ago. Regardless, the light show outside was spectacular!!!
