DVD library unpacked and organized
empty boxes cleared out
Army gear organized and staged in the appropriate closet
DVD player/ surround sound assembled and functions check complete!
BBQ grill assembled and ready (Monday or Tuesday???)
dining table cleared
bedroom furniture purchased and delivery scheduled (completed, sort of... the tall chest wasn't ordered!)
bedroom prepped to receive said furniture
the other miscellaneous boxes of 'stuff' staged in the 3rd bedroom for further organization/ culling (yep yep!)
Not too shabby for Mother's Day, methinks. Considering the amount of work that was done, today was actually pretty chill. The living room is now completely functional and though the third bedroom is still a thorough disaster, it is better organized so at least there's a path from the door to the closet. While I'm on post tomorrow I'm going to inquire as to whether or not there's a recycling center in the area so I may clear out the card board boxes in the garage. Then grill assembly!!!
Tomorrow is official roll call for the course. Though I'm not thrilled that tomorrow and Tuesday are open days for late inprocessing, it is an additional opportunity to make a little more progress throughout the house. Wednesday will be the first real day of briefs and scheduling, then the next big day will be the 18th when we take our APFT.
Among other things, I'm hoping our SGL (small group leader, usually a senior CPT) will be flexible with the PT schedule. I've been a slug since redeployment and need to get into gear. I have a tentative schedule in mind for the reclamation and it closely mirrors the exercise program I designed for Ranger Prep back in '03. It's a solid plan; I just need to make it happen and want the freedom to do so!!!
And now, auf wiederseh'n. I need a haircut before bed and should the curse strike, I plan on getting acquainted with James Michener. Away I go!
