I seem to have recovered somewhat from the exertions of yesterday. I did sleep late and rest for most of the morning. I popped into the garage to check on the various lead-acid batteries in there, whereupon I rigged up a few chargers. The Cappuccino starter battery is nearly fully charged now, and the three standby batteries are OK, too.
But then in late afternoon, I got a sudden urge to do more in the garden. So, I took
aminorjourney's advice about the possibility of hedgehogs hibernating in the pile of sticks at the bottom of the garden. Y'see, that pile needs to move out of the way so that I can use the very far corner of the garden to put the compost bin in. But if I wait much longer, the hedgehog(s) might take up residence. Said compost bin has been lying around in the garden for many years now, after the council delivered one to every home. So, here's the shock: I now have a functioning compost bin, in the proper place, set up and filled with garden stuff.
