America's better qualities are that its own citizens are able to express their opinions openly and pretty much freely. Yes, there have been some issues of freedom of speech and such, but overall and in general America is one of the better democracies in this world. You can bring any argument, but in the end America has been made by the people and for the people. Election day is coming soon and I find that the media has tried to rally many people, especially the youth, of america to fulfil their civic duties as Americans and take part in the electing of their president. I hope that this year many more younger people will vote and express their political opinions.
My middle school cousin who is about 5 years younger than me has proudly expressed her political beliefs, although her beliefs are different than mine...actually very very different, I am proud of her. For such a young person to take a stand and say "hey I believe this ...and I believe this is how my country should be run..." is a quality that many 18 year olds need. I admire her even more due to the fact that she doesnt sway when others tell her that her beliefs are wrong. My cousin has stood fast even when people with opposing ideas and beliefs have given her so much crap... like, ":[Amanda], your a horrible person for believing... so and so... Your a bitch... horrible person... Republicans..." And the fact that her attackers are leaving comments that are titled "anonymous" is funny. Who's the coward in this situation, well it sure isnt Amanda.
For god's sake she's only in middleschool, why are people telling her to suppress her beliefs and voice. I thought this country was about voice, freedom, and equality.
Please, if your able to... go vote and help change this country for the better.
