No horribly high crimes or hard crashes in this gray throw pillow of PR from NPR touting the reupholstering of its website furniture, but there are some errors, questionable choices, and...well...a weak voice and discouraging style. Did a genuine editor see it before it was posted? Should it have been vetted by -- oh, whaddayacallit -- a good writer? Shouldn't this particular outfit try a little harder, be a little sharper and distinguish itself in everything it puts out by living up to the more favorable (but ever fading) expectations of specific grammar awareness and a more generally literate and interesting mien? (Shouldn't this be my only allowed use of "mien" this season?)
